Yankie Phal drops into Seaforth,
A 1st summer wilsons phalarope showed well on the causeway and continues a fantastic run of great birds for Merseyside this spring. It was feeding in the distinctive way of sweeping the bill from side to side leaning forward. It looked a little nervous and took a couple of short flights revealing its white rump. It spent all its time on the causeway and only entered the water for a short bath unlike other phalaropes.
Other news from (BH)of a male common rosefinch at Prescot reservoirs singing in the ranch briefly today.
